🪁Makar Sankranti Celebration 🪁

Makar Sankranti is believed traditionally to mark the arrival of spring in India. As it is the festival of Sun God and he is regarded as the symbol of divinity and wisdom, the festival also holds an eternal meaning to it.
This festival is known by different names in India, such as Lohri in North India and Pongal in Southern regions. It is a festival all about prayers, sweets, and kites. This festival gives us a reason to come together and celebrate after the chilling winter months.
To mark the significance of this day, our little angels showcase their creativity in designing a kite with paper crumbling & transforming a flat piece into a finished sculpture, i.e., kite origami activity, which helped kids express themselves and support their development. Our tiny tots had fun-filled activities and exchanged sweets with their parents by saying ‘tilgul ghya – goad goad bola’, which means ‘let’s forget the past ill-feelings and grudges, resolve differences and remain friends. The festival has encouraged our learners to be open-minded, tolerant and respectful towards each other, embrace differences and cherish similarities in their beliefs and cultures.
